Construction Accountant

Location: Fort Myers, FL

This position plays a vital role in managing the financial integrity of complex projects. The Construction Accountant is responsible for reconciliation efforts, supporting billing strategies, and mentoring junior accounting staff. The role works closely with Project Managers and the Director of Project Accounting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial transparency across all assigned projects.

• Lead project reconciliation and financial closeout processes

• Assist in developing and executing billing strategies aligned with project execution plans

• Provide guidance and mentorship to regional accounting staff

• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and reporting

• Support internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies

• Analyze project costs, forecast budgets, and identify discrepancies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and systems

• Experience in a paperless work environment; ERP experience (e.g., Vista) preferred

• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
