Job Description:
The experienced HR professional with a strong focus on compliance will provide strategic HR guidance and ensure adherence to California labor laws. This role involves aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, managing employee relations, and overseeing key HR functions such as payroll, benefits, training, and performance management. The position requires deep expertise in California labor law, legal compliance, and employee relations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy Development: Develop and enforce policies to ensure compliance with California labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, meal and rest breaks, overtime, and workers' compensation.
Payroll Verification: Review and verify payroll accuracy, ensuring proper employee classification and adherence to state wage laws.
Employee Relations: Manage employee relations, including counseling, outplacement support, and exit interviews, ensuring compliance with California employment rights.
Workforce Planning: Guide workforce planning, turnover analysis, and ensure adherence to state employment regulations.
Compliance Oversight: Oversee overtime, breaks, and meal periods, ensuring compliance with California labor standards.
Process Improvement: Recommend policy and procedural improvements to enhance operational efficiency and maintain compliance.
HRIS Management: Maintain accurate HRIS records, generate compliance reports, and stay updated on regulatory changes.
Additional HR Support: Assist with additional HR tasks related to compliance and risk management.
Qualifications:
Language Proficiency: Bilingual proficiency in Korean.
Experience: 3+ years of HR experience, with a focus on compliance and employee relations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field.
Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of California labor law and employment regulations.
HRIS Experience: Experience with HRIS systems (preferably ADP Workforce NOW).
Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and manage multiple tasks.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
