About the Role

avad3 Event Production is looking for an experienced Senior Event Production Tech to join our team. Whether you’re an experienced audio tech, video director or lighting designer, this is your opportunity to be part of an exciting range of projects–from local events in NWA to multi-day productions across the country.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment where precision, communication and ownership matter. You’ll be responsible for prepping, packing, and operating the technical gear that powers our events—ensuring everything from cable plans to load-in logistics are executed with excellence. We’re looking for someone who thrives in both specialized and cross-functional roles. On larger events, you may focus in a dedicated area. On smaller shows, you may serve across a broader range of responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Prep, test, and pack all show-specific gear based on project needs and technical requirements.
  2. Build and submit tech plans for assigned events, including gear lists, cable plans, and setup notes.
  3. Execute load-ins, show operation, and strikes—serving as a lead technician on-site as needed.
  4. Operate and troubleshoot gear across audio, lighting, video, and staging disciplines.
  5. Maintain equipment and report necessary repairs or replacements proactively.
  6. Coordinate with production managers to ensure tech plans align with client expectations and production goals.
  7. Load and unload trucks; maintain gear organization and safety throughout the process.
  8. Assist in continuous improvement of shop and gear prep systems.

We’re Seeking Someone Who

  1. Is proficient in technical, event production equipment.
  2. Demonstrates professionalism through reliability, tact, staying calm under pressure and treating others with respect and consideration.
  3. Adapts to change in dynamic working environments and is able to deal with the unexpected with grace and decisiveness.
  4. Collaborates freely with teammates and crew.
  5. Is a strong written and verbal communicator.
  6. Has a hunger for learning and growth.

Requirements

Position Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in live event production (audio, video, lighting; volunteer or paid; event or film)
  • Working knowledge of professional-grade event gear and systems (cabling, signal flow, troubleshooting)
  • Strength in at least one of these departments: Audio, Video or Lighting
  • Broad proficiency across all departments
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays and out-of-state events, sometimes on short notice
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to drive vans and box trucks a plus
  • Comfortable with physical labor, including lifting heavy gear, loading/unloading trucks, and working long hours during show cycles

P referred Experience

  • Working in a small business
  • Audio (Wireless mics, Midas/Yamaha Consoles, Line Arrays)
  • Video (broadcast cameras, ProPresenter, ATEM switchers, projection)
  • Conventional/Intelligent lighting, grandMA3 Consoles, Rigging
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks
  • General (Apple Mac, basic networking, intercom)
  • Creative / film (DSLR, Aputure lighting, Adobe Premier)

Benefits

What We Offer

Exciting Industry Opportunities: Be part of a fast-growing, dynamic company in the live event production world.

Career Growth: Enjoy hands-on learning and opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career.

Supportive Team: Join a team that values your unique perspective and contributions.

Generous Paid Time Off: Start at 20 paid personal days per year, plus 7 paid holidays.

Team Culture & Fun: Enjoy annual offsite days, a festive Christmas party, and plenty of team-building fun.

Comprehensive Benefits Package:

  • 401(k) retirement plan with a 6% company match after 90 days of employment.
  • 70% company-paid medical benefits, starting the first of the month following your hire date.
  • 100% company-paid First Stop Health benefits.
  • Additional benefits available, including dental, vision, accident coverage, and more.
  • 100% company-paid life insurance as well as short- and long-term disability coverage.

This position is hourly because events aren’t a typical 8-5 job—our team’s hard work is valued, and any time over 40 hours is honored with overtime pay.

If you take pride in being prepared, enjoy solving problems on the fly, and have a passion for live event production, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll play a critical role in how our shows come together—from shop prep to final strike. This is your chance to join a team that values professionalism, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement—and to contribute directly to events that make a real impact.

We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you are a hardworking individual who is looking for a challenging and rewarding career in production, we encourage you to apply for this position.
